Customer Review: David Sedaris is a talented writer, but his work in this tome is inconsistent. It all goes down smoothly, but never rises to the level of "Dress Your Children in Denim and Corduroy." Each of these short essays was previously published elsewhere and they don't quite come together as an anthology.
Customer Review: This is Sedaris' best collection of short stories/memoirs/autobiographies. His writing is wonderful, in part because it's hard to separate fact from fiction. He has a true gift for writing. My favorite story is the title one but all are great. These stories are great to read all at once or one at a... more info

Customer Review: One of my favorite Sedaris collections. It has some new stories as well as some old that I have read elsewhere. Great stocking stuffer for a Sedaris fan. All the stories are hilarious - especially "Santaland Diaries." Sedaris has a gift for humor that shines throughout this book.

What is remarkable is his ability to find the... more info
Customer Review: This CD of David Sedaris at Carnegie Hall was quick, clever, and smooth. He can take the subtlest of observations and make them into pure humor. Thae man has a gift of making the everyday HILARIOUS!
Customer Review: What a treasure--worth every penny. David Sedaris is hilarious in his low-key style of humor. And his sister is just as funny. Thanks to Amazon.com for making this an affordable collection.
